Bank of America on Plastic

The Institute of Bank America published a great short piece on plastic and its circular economy. A strange place for good plastic research and needed investments. I found it well worth the read. There were two key points that I found important.

First, a circular economy for any product cycle is heavily dependent on the design. They stated that 80% of environmental impact is based in design. In my old life (career) we used phrases like: ‘quality designed in’; ‘customer oriented design’, etc. The key was that design makes the magic happen, not production.

Their second point was that bioplastics is a viable alternative and could grow from less than 1% today to over 50% by 2028.
